Everything you need to know before you book.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, comfortable non-slip shoes, and any snacks or drinks you'd like. We recommend light layers in cooler months. All fishing gear is provided — just show up ready to fish.
No — your fishing license is covered under the charter captain's license when you're on the boat. You do not need a personal Florida fishing license for a chartered trip.
Yes, a deposit is required to hold your date. Please call or use the contact form to discuss availability and deposit details.
We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Captain Richard as early as possible. Deposits are fully refundable when cancellations are made at least 72 hours in advance. With shorter notice, deposits may be applied to a rescheduled trip at Captain Richard's discretion.
Safety is the top priority. If weather makes it unsafe to go out, we will work with you to reschedule. Captain Richard monitors conditions closely and will contact you if there's a concern.
All charters are private — it's just your group and Captain Richard. The boat accommodates up to 6 guests plus the captain, making it ideal for families, couples, and small groups.
Have a larger party? Zookeeper Charters works with multiple licensed and insured local captains, each operating boats that carry up to 6 guests. We can coordinate multi-boat trips to comfortably accommodate groups of any size.
Absolutely. Captain Richard provides hands-on instruction and all gear is provided. The trips are designed to be fun and approachable for all experience levels. Many of our most enthusiastic guests are first-timers and kids.
Depending on the season and conditions: Snook, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Sheepshead, Snapper, Tarpon, Mackerel, and more. Captain Richard targets what's biting based on tides, season, and daily conditions.
Yes — fish cleaning and bagging is included on fishing charter trips. You take home your catch ready for the grill.
Meeting location details are provided when you book. Captain Richard will give you the specifics for your trip. Sebastian Inlet State Park and nearby boat ramps are common launch points.
Gratuities are not included in the trip price but are always appreciated if you had a great experience. 15–20% is customary for charter fishing trips.
